In the early 70's Eric Oates was born, a Virgo, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. From 1981 to 1983, he developed his painting skills under the wing of Susan Nelson Van Sleet, a central Wisconsin artist. Oates graduated from Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids and later scored both his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Art History from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He has been a participant of the Brady Street Benefit for the Arts, exhibited at Lakeshore Gallery in Milwaukee and has been actively involved with HI/IQ Productions, a Milwaukee underground art group, since 1997. Oates's work has been collected and commissioned by connoisseurs in Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Currently single, Oates lives on Milwaukee's East Side.
